Rich Scherber, Minnesota Teen Challenge Director Thanks State Senate Candidate Paul Gazelka

Saturday, August 07, 2010

Paul Gazelka was a teenager when I first met him in Virginia, MN. His family was part of the first church I was pastor of on the Iron Range. His parents were very active in the Christian community there and Paul has followed that same path for his life as well. I know Paul to be a compassionate and honorable man, willing to serve the people of his area.

Pastor Brian Kimbler had the original dream to bring Teen Challenge to the Brainerd area back in the 1990's but Paul Gazelka was the first legislator to work at bringing Teen Challenge area and making the dream a reality. He helped to organize the media and helped gather the local officials at the first meetings held out at the Regional Treatment Center. And ever since the center has been open, Paul Gazelka has been a regular volunteer and mentor to the men at the Brainerd Teen Challenge center.

In the past, we have expressed appreciation as well to the other local legislators for their part in bringing Teen Challenge to the area. This truly has been team effort.

Thank you Paul Gazelka for your efforts legislatively and personally to make Teen Challenge a success in the Brainerd area.

Warmest Regards,

  Your friend,

Rich Scherber

Director, Minnesota Teen Challenge
