July 2017 Update

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Last October, I never would have predicted that I would be the Senate MAJORITY Leader. I was on the Minority leadership team, hoping that we would take the Majority back for the second time in 46 years. And we did. But when our leader, David Hann, lost his race, I made the decision Wednesday morning after the election to run for the top MN Senate leadership position. The next day I was honored to be chosen by my fellow Republican Senators for the position of Senate Majority Leader.

We immediately began the work of setting up our staff. Our focus was on stopping the collapse of our healthcare system and passing a needed roads and bridges bill WITHOUT a gas tax or tab fee increase. We also focused on giving 650 million dollars of tax relief to farmers, seniors, young adults with student loans, and so many more.

In the end, even with a Democratic Governor, we got it all done…and more.

Real ID finally got done, bringing Minnesota into compliance with the federal security standards. This will allow people to use their driver’s license as ID at airports and on military bases.

We passed significant teacher reforms to get and keep the best teachers in front of our students.

Bonding projects that focused on roads, bridges, and our area were included in the work we got done.

I’m writing today to let you know I will be running for re-election, and therefore, need to raise money again. As the new Majority Leader, I owe it to the new MN Senate Republican Majority to keep and grow our majority. We made a difference this year. If we can also elect a Republican Governor, huge reform, growth, and opportunity are possible for Minnesota.

The Political Contribution Refund (PCR) program is now available. An individual may donate $50 (a married couple – $100) per year and be fully refunded that amount. Our conservative values and commitment to our rural roots are important. Your donation will help me to continue fighting for you.

You can donate online today by going to my website, gazelkaforsenate.com, and clicking on the “Donate” button. You can also donate by mailing your donation to the Gazelka Volunteer Committee, 15229 Edgewood Dr., Suite 100A, Baxter, MN 56425.

Thank you for the trust you have placed in me. I will continue to work hard for you in the future.

May God richly bless you and those you love, and may God bless America.

Warmest Regards,

Senator Paul Gazelka
